Summer holidays in South Tirol - hike to the Vajolet towers

Dream walk on the Rosengarten - the Vajolet towers under Passo Santner

An impressive hike to the Vajolet Towers, the bizarre climbing towers in the Rosengarten.

We take the cable car from Vigo di Fassa to Ciampedie. From there we hike for 1,35 hours through the impressively wild Vajolet valley to the Preuss Refugio. Left hand we climb in 50 min. the rope-secured path to the Rifugio Re Alberto. The direct presence of the majestic towers of Vajolet, gives the "Gartl", located in a rocky basin, an incomparable atmosphere. The immediate view of the bizarre rock towers is unforgettable. Since the Santnerpass hut is now open again, we would like to spend our well-earned rest there and so we hike in 20 min. to the 2.741m high Passo Santner. In the bright sunshine we enjoy our lunch and the view of Latemar, Corno Bianco, Corno Nero, Brenta- and Ortler Group.
